A space with digitization tools and support from library staff who can assist in public, family, or organizational history projects. We have equipment for digitizing photographs, paper documents, books, slides, film, VHS tapes, cassette tapes, vinyl records, or other ephemera. If you have never worked with similar equipment before, we recommend orientation and training with library staff. We want to accommodate as many people’s use of the equipment as possible. Your use time may be limited at the discretion of library staff. We have equipment and expertise to help you record oral histories with other people. We have quiet, enclosed spaces for recording audio. We have Garageband and iMovie for recording and editing projects such as music, spoken word, podcasts, oral histories, videos, or other types of recordings. We are able to provide assistance to community organizations or individuals with historical projects and research, with a focus on helping making their research and projects publicly available. The Memory Lab must be reserved using our online system and your reservation must be approved by library staff.
