A Growing Problem: What We Can Do About Invasive Plants

A Growing Problem: What We Can Do About Invasive Plants

Members of the James River Park System Invasive Plant Task Force will give a virtual presentation explaining why invasive plants, many of them common in gardens and yards, threaten our parks, and how we can help restore park habitat. Panelists will explain the basic ecology of native and invasive plants, identify some of the most common and destructive “garden escapees,” and explore their impacts on our natural environment. Participants will learn tips on how to get started with controlling these invasive plants, actions that improve habitat at home while protecting our parks. Presenters will answer questions at the end of the program. Learn more about the James River Park System here.
