First Chapters is a program where we read the first chapter of a recent book together, out loud, then discuss it. This month we are reading the beginning of Chronicles from the Land of the Happiest People on Earth by Wole Sonyika and discussing Post-Colonial Literature and Writers You Should Read. Library staff supplements each session with some readers’ advisory on related titles, read-alikes, or genre guidance. New and longtime readers alike are welcome!
