October 2019 Art Exhibits
The following exhibits will be on display from Friday, October 3, 2019, through Tuesday, October 29, 2019:
Gellman Room—Shapes, Shimmers and Shadows—every subject, from fresh garden blooms to sweaty marathon runners, glows with light from within, shimmers with reflected light, or casts mysterious shadows in the oil paintings of Richmond artist Jill Wiebe-King
Dooley Foyer & Dooley Hall —Meditations along the Journey—acrylic paintings, handcrafted etchings and bronze sculptures, which represent a spectrum of artistic musings ranging from landscape and floral works to metaphorical abstracts, by Richmond artist Kathleen Hutton
2nd Floor Gallery—Home—a dreamlike series of acrylic-on-canvas paintings from the memories of growing up in NYC and the imagination of New York City artist Helene Ruiz
The library’s permanent collections include works by David Freed, Helen & Alvin Hattorf, and Anne Newbold Perkins.
First Friday, a monthly opening-night reception for all the artists of the library’s galleries, will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019, from 6:30—9:00 pm.
