Why the Fourth Amendment Matters: Constitutional Protection against Arbitrary Search and Seizure

As part of the Richmond Public Law Library's Celebration of Constitution Day, Historian Carolyn Eastman, Ph.D. and Political Scientist John Aughenbaugh, Ph.D. will discuss the history of the fourth amendment and the evolving nature of searches and seizures in law enforcement. 

Dr. Eastman, an associate professor of the VCU History Department, is the author of the award-winning book A Nation of Speechifiers: Making an American Public after the Revolution. Dr. Aughenbaugh is an assistant professor of the VCU Political Science Department.
