Meet author Karen A. Chase and hear excerpts from her new book titled Carrying Independence. Come early and enjoy some oysters on the library patio! Book People will have copies of the book for sale and there will be a book signing after the presentation.
Oysters at 5pm, author talk begins at 6pm.
Karen A. Chase is the award-winning author of CARRYING INDEPENDENCE. The novel secured second place in the William Faulkner, William Wisdom Unpublished Novel Competition against 502 other entries, and was a semifinalist in the Screencraft Cinematic Book competition. She was a visiting scholar at the American Antiquarian Society and was awarded a Virginia Humanities 2019-2020 Library of Virginia Fellowship.
