February 2019 Art Exhibits:
The following exhibits will be on display from Friday, February 1, 2019, through Tuesday February 26, 2019:
Gellman Room—“Embrace"—paintings by Terrie Powers. By combining representational imagery with abstract, these large pieces on wood panel reveal the mythology behind the natural world.
Dooley Foyer & Dooley Hall—“Representation Matters”—an exhibit reflecting the importance of racial, historical and creative freedom in the fiber arts genre symbolized in quilting by members of the Kuumba Aftrican-American Quilter’s Guild of Richmond, Virginia
2nd Floor Gallery—“How Art has Soothed My Soul”—digital prints and acrylic paintings by Richmond artist Miss Lo
The library’s permanent collections include works by David Freed, Helen & Alvin Hattorf, and Anne Newbold Perkins.
