January 2019 Art Exhibits
The following exhibits will be on display from Friday, January 4, 2019, through Tuesday January 29, 2019:
Gellman Room—“Embrace"—paintings by Terrie Powers. By combining representational imagery with abstract, these large pieces on wood panel reveal the mythology behind the natural world.
Dooley Foyer & Dooley Hall—“BridgePark: A Grand Vision for Richmond”—28’ architectural model of a world-class linear park running through downtown Richmond and across the James River presented by Ted Elmore, BridgePark President.
2nd Floor Gallery—“Nature through My Mind’s Eyes”—original oil/acrylic paintings and original sculptured abstract pieces of dance illustrated by Richmond artist, Monica Vanessa Carter Ross
On Wednesday, January 16 at 5:30 pm. in the Library’s auditorium, BridgePark will host a Community Conversation about the project.
The library’s permanent collections include works by David Freed, Helen & Alvin Hattorf, and Anne Newbold Perkins.
First Friday @ Main
A monthly opening-night reception for all the artists of the library’s galleries, will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 6:30—9:00 pm.
