MOVE YOUR MOUNTAIN Talk by Quentel Smith

MOVE YOUR MOUNTAIN Talk by Quentel Smith

Quentel D. Smith is an author, speaker and an inspiration to others. From the age of 23, Quentel made it his personal mission to help move individuals to a brighter future. His journey began when he was delivered via emergency C-section as a result of his father slamming his mother through a glass table. His low birth weight of 2 pounds forced him to remain in the hospital for three months before being cleared to go home. At a very young age, he witnessed his mother become a victim of domestic violence at the hands of his alcoholic father. In many of his adolescent years, he suffered from low self-esteem, and contemplated suicide. Through everything, he managed to overcome it all. He graduated among the top 10% of his class from Franklin Military Academy in Richmond, Virginia. He furthered his education at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, graduating with an Associate Degree in Social Science. Quentel is the first of his father’s children to not only graduate from high school, but college as well. Quentel didn’t allow his past to define the opportunities for his life. He allowed them to give birth to a life of purpose. His signature message is “Your past doesn’t define your future. It designs it.”

It has been said “People die every day. Some die physically. Some die mentally. Some die emotionally”. According the National Institute of Mental Health, it is estimated that approximately 40,000 people successfully take their lives each year. In his new book, Move Your Mountain: How to Move through the Challenges of Life, Quentel sheds light on how to make it through any challenge that life presents by sharing how he was able to rise above his darkest moments. Quentel elevates his readers’ mindset, instilling in them a new mindset and a new set of eyes that allows them to rise from being a victim to becoming a victor. Move Your Mountain not only focuses on your mindset but equips the reader with ways to stand in the midst of your challenge. It allows the reader to self-assess and to develop your own personal G.P.S on how to handle your challenge, and shares with you how you can truly re-invent yourself and tap into a life of purpose. Come to the book talk and ask Quentel how to bring out the inner champion in you by using his new book, Move Your Mountain.
