Exploring Richmond's History: Community Conversations at Your Local Branch

Exploring Richmond's History: Community Conversations at Your Local Branch

Join us for an engaging and informative session as we bring the Richmond Room and Memory Lab to your neighborhood! This special event will feature a brief presentation on the history of Richmond in your area, highlighting the resources available at the Richmond Room and the Memory Lab for those interested in historical research and preserving personal memories.

But it’s not just about listening – we want to hear from YOU! After the presentation, we’ll open the floor for a community discussion where you can share your own memories and experiences of Richmond, reflecting on how the city has shaped your life. Whether it’s stories of family, landmarks, or moments that define the area, your voice adds to the rich tapestry of our community’s history.

We’ll also introduce you to the library’s new Digital Archive, a growing online collection where you can explore historical materials, documents, photographs, and more. Learn how you can contribute and access this invaluable resource, preserving our shared history for future generations.

Bring your stories, your questions, and your curiosity – we can’t wait to explore Richmond’s past with you!
