The Union Advance into Richmond: The First Days of April, 1865
After fours years of struggle, Union troops captured Richmond in April, 1865. On Saturday, April 20th, join us at the East End Branch Library at 11am as a Ranger from Richmond National Battlefield Park will discuss these chaotic days as the Confederates evacuated the city, enslaved people received their freedom, and Union troops entered the city and took control.
