Black History Month Research Assistance in the Richmond Room

Black History Month Research Assistance in the Richmond Room

The Richmond Room will be open for walk-in research assistance during Black History Month to support people who want to learn more about Black history in Richmond. Are you curious about the history of a building in Jackson Ward or looking for an old issue of the Richmond Planet? Staff can assist you with navigating our local history and genealogy materials, including church directories, yearbooks, city reports, newspapers, genealogy databases, and more. Richmond Room materials related to Black history will also be on display all month long. To make an appointment outside of open hours, please contact RichmondRoom@rva.gov or (804) 646-3425.
