Solar Eclipse Viewing @ West End Branch Library

Solar Eclipse Viewing @ West End Branch Library

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk.

Stop by the West End Branch Library, pick up some eclipse glasses and watch as the sun changes shape!  The partial eclipse will begin at 2:02 pm on Monday, April 8, 2024.  Here in RVA we will see 80-85% of the total solar eclipse!  The maximum coverage will occur at approximately 3:20pm.

Join us on the patio for eclipse activities and treats.  Stop by anytime between 2pm and 4pm.

Can't make it on April 8th?  We will have information and take-away activities available at the library during the week before the eclipse date.
