Join us on the third Friday of every month for our new monthly book club. Formerly the Hull Street Book Club, the Community Action Book Club will read and discuss books on topics that matter--everything from romantic green spaces and urban housing patterns, to food sustainability and book bans, to children's literacy and homeschooling, to chemicals in our food to medical bias concerns--and then we'll discuss ways of keeping up with what's happening or possibly taking action. 

Meet new friends and neighbors and read about topics that matter to RVA community members. Bring your lunch and come early so that you can help decide on book selections. Space is limited, so reserve your spot today!

Always had an interest in RPG games but either don't have experience or are looking to join a new club? RPG (Role Playing Game) Club is a social group focused on playing tabletop RPGs, where participants take on the roles of fictional characters and collaboratively explore a game's narrative. RPG Club offers a space for both novice and experienced players to engage in rotating RPG games like Dungeons and Dragons, learn new games, develop characters, and build social connections. Join us this winter for as we explore Tricube Tales' Academy of Monstrous Secrets, where magically gifted students navigate the trials and tribulations of high school. December marks session one where we'll start with character creation, worldbuilding, and map making within the world.

Telling spooky stories during the wintertime is a tradition going back hundreds of years. We'll carry on that tradition by reading books like Heckedy Peg, Paradise Sands, and Fergus and the Night-Demon.

While this program will be using picture books, there are themes and images that might unsettle especially sensitive or very young children. Parental discretion is advised.
